WordPress has become one of the most popular platforms to build websites on. DIY Website Builder even uses it. Why is WordPress so popular? It is very versatile and extremely simple to use.
You used to only be able to access it at WordPress.com to create blogs (I’m unsure of this, but I believe it limits some of the add-ons you can use), but it has become a very powerful platform that you can now download from WordPress.org (free), and upload it to your webhost. As WordPress popularity has grown, so have the features that you can incorporate. You can use customized templates, plugins, widgets, and much more!
WordPress offers its own templates and plugins, but there are many secondary market places for third party developers’ work as well. While you can find many excellent free add-ons, there are great premium add-ons that typically do not break the bank.
What I really enjoy about this is that you can use various themes and plugins to change how your site works. You are no longer limited to just blogging with WordPress. You can create online magazines, e-commerce stores, review sites, hosting sites, photo galleries, video depots, user content networks, social media, and much more!
Since WordPress is such a powerful resource and has so many possibilities, I will do my best to provide you with as much information as possible. Keep in mind, there is quite a bit I could go into regarding this, so I may not have everything up all at once. If you want to know something specific on it, let me know, and I’ll work on getting it up on here as quickly as possible.
